After the Golf turned 35 not long ago, Caddy’s turn just came up to celebrate its birthday, being five years younger than its “brother”, and what other place would be better to eat some of its cake than the Frankfurt Motor Show.
With more than 1.5 million units sold to date, Volkswagen decided to reveal a special Caddy Edition 30, which stands out from the crowd with a roof painted in brilliant gloss black, 17 inch alloy wheels and the signatures on its doors, while inside the German automaker fitted it with Alcantara upholstery, a multi-function steering wheel, leather trimmed gear stick and handbrake lever, tinted windows, and semi-automatic climate control.
Volkswagen says that its Caddy Edition 30 is available with four different engine specifications, with short wheelbase as a car or as a panel van for commercial use, like the TDI with 75 to 125 kW and its TSI delivering 77 kW. The top of the line 2.0 liter diesel and 125 kW, with DSG, can accelerate the compact MPV to a top speed of 196, while generating 350 Nm of torque, making it the most dynamic Caddy ever.
As for the colors available, Volkswagen is offering a choice between Candy White, Reflex Silver, Salsa Red, Primavera Green and Sunny Yellow.
