Fuel Truck Explodes in Saudi Arabia, Kills 14 image

Today, November 1st, a fuel truck exploded in Riyadh, the Saudi capital, killing at least 14 people, injuring 60 and setting on fire buildings and cars.

The fuel truck exploded in what it seems a roadway accident, killing 14 people and injuring 60 more. Officials said there is no suspicion of a terrorist attack, as witnesses say that the fuel truck exploded after striking part of a highway underpass. The number of deaths could be higher as rescue crews are still searching through the pilled of charred vehicles and the area near the Saudi National Guard building, located in an industrial area in the city’s eastern district.

Columns of smoke could be seen from far away and firefights spent hours to extinguish the blaze. The vehicle crashed into a concrete flyover and the explosion occurred at a junction on Khurays Road, near one of Riyadh’s main transport arteries.
