Fuso celebrates 1 million units sold in Indonesia image

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, one of Asia’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, has announced it reached the 1 million-unit sales milestone in Indonesia, MFTBC’s largest export market.

The company has been present on the Indonesian market since 1970 and has established itself as the leading commercial vehicle brand. The FUSO Canter truck is a top seller with a market share of 52.8 % in the light duty truck segment in Indonesia and is contributing significantly to the seven-digit sales benchmark.

“Our success in Indonesia is driven by our customers in the market,” said Mr. Masashi Kogame, MFTBC Senior Vice President of Operations Trucks & Buses. “Being the market leader for 43 years, we have always aimed to go beyond our customer expectations, and that is what we aspire in the coming years, delivering optimal solutions for our customers for the better of their total cost of ownership.”

To enable stronger participation in the growth of sales markets like Indonesia, the company’s largest export market, MFTBC and Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, the company’s strategic counterpart at Daimler Trucks Asia, are well positioned to fuel additional growth with an overall sales target of more than 290,000 units sold by 2020.

The markets of Southeast Asia offer a significant long-term market potential. According to external forecasts, an increase of approximately 20% to 30% in annual truck sales can be expected for the entire Southeast Asia region until 2020.
