The future generation of the Alfa Romeo will use a 1.4 liter turbocharged engine, which will produce a total output of 170 HP.
The next generation of the Alfa Romeo Spider is one of the most awaited vehicles in its segment but fans of the car will have to wait a couple of years before being able to get their hands on it because the drop top will make its way onto the market sometimes in 2015, as a 2016 model year. The upcoming Alfa Romeo Spider will have nothing in common with the brand new Alfa Romeo 4C but it will share some of the components with the next-gen Mazda MX-5.
The 2016 Alfa Romeo Spider will be inspired by the concept unveiled back in 2010 and it will use the same front bulkhead, front and rear axles, engine compartments and windscreen with the future Mazda MX-5 generation. Both convertibles will be approximately 4 meters long and 1.7 meters wide but the Alfa Romeo car will be several cm longer than its Japanese counterpart. The engine used on the future Alfa Romeo Spider will be a 1.4L TB MultiAir, also used on the Giulietta. More details on the model are limited for the moment.
