The aftermarket specialist has recently taken the wraps off its new GT model, based on the British supercar manufacturer McLaren’s 650S version.
Gemballa has started its work from the outside, where it added a minimal carbon fiber body kit that packs new side skirts for a “lower and sleeker” appearance. The coupe has also been adorned with a new rear bumper that comes with its own integrated diffuser that has an aerodynamic function as well – to lower lift forces. These modifications seem overly subtle for a tuner but Gemballa mentions their focus was on delivering increased downforce for higher cornering speeds. Inching closer we also noticed the 20- / 21-inch GForged-one lightweight alloy wheels which were fitted after Gemballa used new carbon-fiber inner wheel arches to make sure there’s enough space for the bigger set of wheels.
While the subtle exterior cues may not be anyone’s treat, flashy tastes can be reserved for the interior where Gemballa tells owners they can order pretty much anything to customize the cabin – from premium leather upholstery to bespoke floor mats. Performance has also been enhanced: the GT sports an optimized ECU which lifts the total output of the biturbo 3.8-liter V8 engine to 670 horsepower and 536 pound-feet of torque. This is an increase of 20 hp and 36 lb-ft of torque and the entire package is offered by the tuner for $38,286 (€33,900), including VAT.
