Geneva: BMW Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo image

At the 2012 Geneva Motor Show Alpina has unveiled a new version of the B5 Biturbo with 540 hp.

Based on the 5-Series, the Buchloe, Germany-based tuner added a new body kit and power pack (a tuned up V8 4.4 liter engine with two Honeywell-Garrett turbochargers that produces 540 horsepower and a maximum torque of 730 Nm) that increases the desirability of the BMW 550i, providing an alternative to the BMW M5!

As a result, the 5-Series now sprints to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.5 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster than before. Hop on the highway, and the fun doesn’t let up until 198 mph. It sits on the same 20-inch signature Alpina wheels as before, wrapped in 255/35 front and 285/30 rear Michelin Pilot Super Sports.

With respect to the car’s efficiency, 22.4mpg has been quoted as the car’s average economy with CO2 emissions of 244g/km.
