The North American based automaker Cadillac has recently presented to the public, in an European debut, the new ATS, at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
After being officially presented back in January at the 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, the all-new Cadillac ATS is getting ready to take on its European rivals like the BMW 3-Series, Audi A4 or the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and the first step into this has already been taken with presenting the model at the Geneva Motor Show.
The new Cadillac ATS is powered by a 2.5 liter naturally aspirated inline four-cylinder engine, which is developing a total output of 200 horsepower and it has a peak torque of 188 lb-ft, returning an average of 30 mpg on the highway. Other engine options include the 2.0 liter four-cylinder direct injected turbocharged unit, with its 270 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, a significant increase of the 2.0 liter engine in the BMW 3-Series, which is coming with 240 HP.
The Cadillac ATS is expected to go on sale in Europe this autumn and prices are expected to start at 30,000 euros. More details on the European spec Cadillac ATS will be announced close to its launch date.
