The Infiniti Emerg-E Concept car has been recently unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and the model has a big chance of hitting the production line.
The Japanese based automaker Infiniti has teased the Emerg-E Concept a few times in the past months and the model has even leaked ahead of its official debut, spoiling the company’s surprise, but even so, the vehicle still managed to attract quite a crowd at the Swiss automotive event. According to Nissan’s luxury brand, the Infiniti Emerg-E Concept might hit the production line, depending on the public and media reaction, and our opinion on the subject is simple: bring it on!
The Infiniti Emerg-E Concept is powered by a 1.2 liter three-cylinder petrol engine, made by Lotus, and two electric motors, each of them generating 201 BHP, while the petrol burner is developing 47 BHP. Infiniti says that the concept car can be driven up to 30 miles on electric power alone, but the range is extended to 300 miles with the help of the electric engine.
The design language adopted by the Infiniti Emerg-E was first seen back in 2009, on the Essence Concept, and more recently, on the Etherea, but if the model makes it into production, it’s expected to have a price tag of 150,000 USD.
