The 7 Series is not in a cloned format on the show floor of the 86th edition of the Geneva Motor Show, but the high-performance version of the flagship BMW is wearing both in-house clothes (M760Li xDrive) and the tailored Alpina suit.
The all new Alpina B7 is of course based off the current generation 7 Series and represents the well known tuner’s take on the flagship model. It will reach both European and Norht American soil later on this year and comes with the usual high-end Alpina tweaks. The aftermarket specialist is renowned for its spirit and stance and as such it has nothing to do with monstrosities like the Mansory takes on the supercar world. Instead you get a bespoke 7 series in B7 guise wearing a sporty front end with an active shutter grille and a front lip spoiler.
Out in the back shines a stainless steel sports exhaust system, a rear spoiler and the sides are adorned with 20-inch Alpina Classic wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubber. On the show floor we also took notice off the high-performance braking system with blue brake calipers and the available bespoke colors: Alpina Blue metallic and Alpina Green metallic.
The bespoke treatment is also present inside the cabin where we have a unique instrument cluster, Nappa leather seats, a leather-wrapped dashboard, and a sport steering wheel with blue and green contrast stitching. There are also ceramic controls, illuminated door sill plates, and Piano Black or Myrtle Luxury Wood trim while there’s also additional standard equipment such as a head-up display and a rearview camera. Power is putting the B7 on the same level with the M760Li since the biturbo 4.4-liter V8 engine has now been massaged to deliver 600 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. It has been mated to a modified eight-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system and that’s enough to reach 60 mph in 3.6 seconds on its way to a maximum speed of 193 mph.
