Geneva Motor Show LIVE: Aston Martin Rapide S

Aston Martin has brought the Rapide S to the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, where the model has been officially presented to the public in a world premiere.

After pulling the wraps off its body a few weeks ago, the brand new Aston Martin Rapide S is ending up in our news once again, this time with the British based automaker bringing it to the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The model is coming with a significant power increase and in terms of design it doesn’t have any radical changes, but we can still spot the updated rear lip spoiler or the new front grille.

Aston Martin says that future owners of the Rapide S will be able to order the optional Carbon Exterior Package, which is adding goodies such as the carbon fiber front splitter, the rear diffuser, the exterior mirror housings and more. The cabin of the powerful Rapide S is coming with a rearview camera, with a twin-screen rear seat entertainment system, with piano black trim, and an optional red and black Duotone leather upholstery , amongst others.

Power to the Aston Martin Rapide S is being provided by a 5.9 liter V12 engine, which is producing a total output of 558 HP (410 kW) and it has a peak torque of 620 Nm (457 lb-ft). The increase over the standard model is 81 HP (59 kW) and 20 Nm of torque, from the previous 600 Nm (442 lb-ft). The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration in the Aston Martin Rapide S takes 4.9 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than the standard version, and top speed has increased to 190 mph (305.7 km/h) from 188 mph (302.5 km/h). Fuel consumption stands at 14.1 L / 100 km (19.9 mpg UK / 16.5 mpg US) and CO2 emissions have dropped from 355 g/km to 332 g/km.
