Following the online reveal that took place early last month, the French automaker has introduced to the public during the Geneva Motor Show the SpaceTourer Hyphen concept.
The model with a quirky name is the result of a collaboration with French pop group “HYPHEN HYPHEN” and Citroen calls the result a “vibrant 4×4 concept”. It’s of course based off the new generation SpaceTourer – which is a sibling to the Peugeot Traveller and the Toyota Proace. Citroen has already opted to apply its “supercharged design” in order to deliver a quirky and oddly fashionable concept that makes use of lively colors and looks as if the Aircross model had a close encounter with the MPV. The crossover credentials are highlighted by the funky 19-inch alloys and plastic body cladding with orange accents. In order t make it look as if it was an SUV Citroen decided for front and rear underbody protection and a modified suspension that would make the vehicle sit further away from the ground.
The cabin also looks towards the younger audience or the most adventurous as it uses the same striking colors and also packs a massive glass sunroof to make the cabin feel aired. Under the hood has been slapped a turbodiesel BlueHDi 150 engine featuring a start/stop and using a six-speed manual transmission to send the power to an on-demand four-wheel drive system. This one was developed jointly with Automobiles Dangel and has been tuned to provide increased traction depending on the ground while usually retaining the handling and the MPV’s standard performances.
