The British marquee has recently said it will unveil the new EV3 model during the Geneva Motor Show and as such the brand has also started the teasing game.
The Ev3 has been announced a while back through the EV3 prototype and the production version will be sourced from the 3 Wheeler – but turning the powertrain into an electric one. Although it’s using as the basis a model that is already being sold, the new EV3 will paint the picture of a new model due to the bespoke design – as far as we can tell from the teaser picture. The front-mounted petrol engine will of course disappear and there are also new headlights that are integrated into the grille. Morgan Design Director Jonathan Wells also hinted in a recent interview the EV3 will take some of its styling tweaks from the Delorean time machine that was featured as a major “character” in the beloved Back to the Future movie franchise.
The isn’t much to go in terms of actual information on the model but the rumor mill has reported a rear-mounted electric motor that comes with more than 75 horsepower and 96 pound-feet of torque. This would grant a zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) sprint in around 8.5 seconds and a maximum speed of 100 mph (160 km/h) – and while packing the same smallish size the EV3 will be capable of going for up to 150 miles on a single charge.
