Skoda has recently presented to the public, during the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the five-door version of the small Citigo model.
After the German based automaker Volkswagen has revealed the five-door Up! not too long ago, the Skoda sub-brand has taken another step forward and has brought the five-door version of the Citigo, the Up! based small car, to the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The VW Up and the Skoda Citigo are basically the same and there is almost no difference between them even from the side view, but even so, Skoda still didn’t release any extra details on its five-door urban vehicle.
Initial rumors are saying that the Skoda Citigo five-door will be powered by a 1.0 liter three-cylinder engine, which is available in two configurations, with 60 horsepower and 75 horsepower, and even if there is no official word on this yet, an RS version of the Citigo is also expected, which might be powered by a 1.0 liter TSI engine, the same one used on the Up GT. Just like its German brother, the new Skoda Citigo is expected to come in a “green” version too, which will burn just 4.1 liters of fuel in an average cycle while emitting 96 g of CO2 per km. More details on the model will be announced close to its launch.
