The 2016 edition of the Geneva Motor Show will feature even more Vignale versions of the Ford models, as the second largest US automaker is looking to expand its upscale lineup.
Ford has announced it would introduce new members to the Vignale high-end family during the Swiss show – for now the brand is only showcasing in its showrooms the Mondeo Vignale. The introduction of more versions in the Vignale sub-brand has been tipped on numerous occasions and the official confirmation is entirely unsurprising. There’s nothing official yet but we have seen Ford hinting on numerous occasions the S-Max people carrier would be the next in line to receive the Vignale treatment. And the version was even previewed through a concept back in September 2013 during the Frankfurt Motor Show. Rumors about the upscale Vignale sub-brand also include the Galaxy in the roster – which is only logical since the model and the S-Max are closely related and declining Vignale versions for both would be a joint project.
On the other hand, the rumor mill has also tipped the Kuga going for the Vignale treatment – which is interesting since there are more and more clients looking for a premium experience in the SUV segment. The SUV is also upgrading its looks and technology thanks to a mid life cycle refresh due for a world premiere during the Swiss event. Ford even said it will have a dedicated area for the Vignale lineup on the floor of the Swiss show to bring its “superior refinement, unique design and advanced technologies.”
