The German based automaker Volkswagen has presented to the public at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show four new Up concepts, the Swiss Up, the Winter Up, the X Up and the Cargo Up.
Besides the Golf GTI Cabriolet and some other models, four new VW concept cars, based on the small Up version, have made their world debut during the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Volkswagen says that the Cargo Up has been made as a delivery van, offering 1,400 liters of space. The model is powered by the entry-level 50 BHP engine, weighing 929 kg and being able to transport 426 kg.
The X Up is designed as a “go anywhere” model, coming with robust side panels, roof box with integrated search lights and underbody guards for the front and the rear ends. This concept car is based on the Cross Up and it has the potential to enter production.
The Volkswagen Winter Up is also based on the four-door Cross Up concept, which was originally presented in 2011 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, being designed for winter sports, with a snowboard carrier on the roof rails. The Winter Up is coming with ESP and it’s available in two colors, Pure White and Malibu Blue.
Last but not least, the Swiss Up has been designed to pay tribute to Geneva and Switzerland and the model is coming painted in the red and white colors of the Swiss flag. VW says that the cabin is finished in “ceramique” trim, which is going just well with the leather styled also in “ceramique” in the rear head restraints, outer area of the seats and the middle of the rear bench seat. The seat surfaces have been “wrapped” in brown Alcantara.
