The German police has just announced that three new Toyota Prius models will enter its eco-car lineup in Berlin, made out of other famous models.
According to the German Police, three new Toyota Prius will be driven on the Berlin roads, along with other eco-cars like the Opel Ampera, Mitsubishi i-MiEV or the Renault Fluence ZE and Kangoo ZE. Thanks to the three new Toyota Prius which have been bought by the German police to be used in Berling, the total fleet has a number of 11 eco-cars, but this is just the beginning and the Berlin police officials have announced that more vehicles, which are emitting less than 120 g/km CO2 will be bought.
While the Italian or British Police is driving Lamborghini or Lotus models, the Germans are taking their battle on a whole new level and hybrid cars are the latest “trend”. The Berlin police is trying to set an example of driving eco, with the use of hybrid cars like the Toyota Prius, which have been bought through a program named the Initiative 120. The program has a goal, of making the whole German police drive only low emissions vehicles or even electric cars, but for now, they will have to settle with their new acquisitions, the three Toyota Prius.
