Germany: New car market up 7pct in December image

VDIK – German auto importers association announced today that new-car market in Germany raised 7 percent in December and it predicted further growth for 2011.

According to the KBA, registrations rose to 230,000 vehicles in December, based on preliminary data released, bringing total new car registrations for 2010 to 2.92 million in Germany.

“I think we can expect to see 3.1 million new car registrations in 2011 and if the economy does well we could quite easily surpass that figure,” VDIK President Volker Lange said in a statement.

On the same time, commercial vehicles registrations were up too – more exactly 37 percent up compared to 2009.
