Germany sees new Volkswagen Allstar special editions introduction image

The largest European manufacturer is still entrenched in the dieselgate scandal but that doesn’t mean its business should be modified – the core VW brand has just announced the all new Allstar editions at home in Germany.

The limited series models have been devised as a way of tying the brand with the 2016 UEFA European Championship football tournament, and will span almost the entire range of the automaker: Polo, Golf, Golf Sportsvan, Golf Variant, Golf Cabriolet, Jetta, Beetle, Beetle Cabriolet, Scirocco, and Sharan. Design changes have been very subtle (you wouldn’t expect any surprises here, considering that even all new generations are barely evolutionary now) and these Allstar editions will feature as standard fog lights, alloy wheels from the Linas line as well as Allstar badging on the B-pillars. Inside the vehicles customers will find “Allstar” branded door sill plates and the Climatronic climate control system as standard equipment. For now the Allstar editions also come packing the winter package with headlight cleaning system, heated windshield washer nozzles and heated front seats. Later on an Allstar Plus package will also be offered but for now the company has been mum on details regarding the latter.

Promotions for the new Allstar editions has already kicked off and Volkswagen has decided some footballers will be the best case scenario for promotion – so you’ll see next to the cars Thomas Müller, Julian Draxler, Max Kruse, André Schürrle and Maximilian Arnold. The special series will have a five-year warranty and VW claims they bring savings of up to €3,900 for each model.
