Volkswagen has recently announced the availability of the frugal Passat BlueMotion on its local market, Germany.
The new generation of the Volkswagen Passat, in its frugal and eco-friendly Passat BlueMotion variant, is currently available for order on the carmaker’s local market, Germany. The announcement has been made recently and, according to the company, customers have a choice of two body styles, the sedan and the wagon, with the pricing for it starting from 29,425 euros, for the four-door version, and from 30,500 euros for the estate.
“So the standard specification includes 16-inch alloy wheels “Copenhagen”, an aerodynamically optimized radiator grille and radiator shutter. The fuel saver is also to “BlueMotion” -Schriftzügen on the radiator grille, visible on the wings and on the boot lid”, is Volkswagen’s way of telling us some details about this particular model.
Besides the aforementioned “goodies”, the vehicle is also getting the 16-inch Copenhagen style alloy wheels, which have a double role. The most important part of the Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion is definitely found under its hood, where the 1.6 liter TDI diesel burner is resting. This is capable of producing a total output of 120 HP (88 kW) and it has a peak torque of 250 Nm (184 lb-ft). Unfortunately VW hasn’t announced any performance details on the car but we do know that the engine is connected to a 6-speed manual transmission which is allowing it to eat just 3.7 liters of fuel every 100 km (76.3 mpg UK / 63.5 mpg US) and to emit 96 g/km of CO2.
