The British sports car manufacturer Ginetta has announced just last week that it will come up with a new sports car which will be twice as expensive as their G40. After making the announcement that went by almost unseen in the automotive media, Ginetta decided it’s time to tease their new model by releasing an official image and some details about it.
Ginetta has confirmed the initial rumors about the new sports car powerplant and has officially announced that the GXX, which is a possible name for it, will be powered by a 3.7 liter engine which is delivering 310 horsepower, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around 4 seconds and hitting a top speed of 165 mph or 265 km/h.
According to the small British automaker, the GXX will weigh less than 1.100 kg (2.425 lbs) and the model will have a carbon fiber body, but judging its by performance figures, the sports car will be in the Porsche Boxter zone.
Its previous model, the G40, is powered by a tuned 2.0 liter Ford Duratec engine which is delivering 175 BHP and 140 lb-ft of torque, but the 840 kg car can be boosted up to 280 BHP.
