GL63 AMG and ML63 AMG tuned by Brabus image

The German aftermarket specialists at Brabus have recently announced their plans to create an upgrade package for the GL63 AMG and for the ML63 AMG, which will be showcased at the Frankfurt event.

The tuning company is saying that the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG and the GL63 AMG, are powered by the same 5.5 liter V8 bi-turbo engine, which has received features like the larger compressor units, the two bespoke turbos, the gold heat reflection insulation, the free-low metal catalyst system, the stainless steel sport exhaust system, the remapped injection and ignition and some other tweaks, which will make the two models more interesting to their future buyers.

The result is an impressive 700 HP (515 kW) at 5,300 rpm, in the GL63 AMG, 143 HP (105 kW) more than the standard model, while the ML63 AMG is producing the same 700 HP but this represents 175 HP (129 kW) more. The torque has been electronically limited to 960 (708 lb-ft), available from just 2,000 rpm. Power is being sent to the wheels through the AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC transmission. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in the GL63 AMG takes 4.6 seconds and 4.4 seconds in the ML63 AMG. Top speed is electronically limited to 300 km/h (186 mph). More details on the two vehicles will be announced during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
