GM, Ford and Toyota Help Hurricane Sandy Victims image

GM, Ford and Toyota announced their plans to help people affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Lexus Financial Services and Toyota Financial Services will launch a “Customer Outreach” program, GM said that it is offering a $500 discount for vehicles bought or leased to customers whose vehicles were damaged by the storm. Ford will also offer $500 Ford Bonus Cash program available for customers who wants to purchase a new Ford or Lincoln vehicle by January 2nd. The program does not include the Mustang Boss, Edge SE AWD, 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT/GT500, F-150 SVT Raptor and Taurus SE.

Toyota will also offer retail and lease customers affected by the hurricane the possibility to get payment extensions and lease deferred payments.

“In addition, the company will announced a 90-day Deferred First Payment Program designed to assist consumers in the most impacted states with their transportation needs as they work through the recovery process,” Toyota said.

Several automakers have also made donations to nonprofit organizations and the American Red Cross, such as Toyota which offered $1 million, VW $500,000, Nissan 100,000 euro and Chevrolet donated 50 Express cargo vans and Silverado full-size pickup trucks, and GM offered $250,000.
