GM going to Detroit with Buick crossover and Chevy Sonic RS image

The North American based automotive giant General Motors is planning to present a Buick crossover and the production version of the Chevrolet Sonic RS at the upcoming 2012 Detroit Motor Show.

According to the guys over at egmcartech.com, General Motors will present the production version of the Chevrolet Sonic RS, or Aveo as it is known in Europe, along with the Buick crossover and the production version of the Cadillac ATS, which is scheduled to go on sale in mid-2012. Egmcartech.com also says that the Buick crossover will be a production version and it will be based on the same platform as the Chevrolet Equinox and the GMC Terrain, rolling off the production line as a mid-size SUV, which will probably be developed in order to take on the Germans at Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz or Land Rover. The Buick crossover will have many things in common with the Buick Envision Concept too.

Besides the Buick crossover, General Motors will also introduce one of the most expected models of the brand, the Chevrolet Sonic RS, or Aveo as it is known in Europe, which will represent the production version of the Aveo RS presented by the automaker earlier this year. Another appearance for the 2012 Detroit Motor Show will be the production version of the Cadillac ATS, which has been scheduled by GM to go on sale in the late summer of 2012. General Motors will also present two new Chevrolet concepts designed by the North Hollywood, California, center, but there aren’t any details on those two for the moment.
