GM begins offering high incentives for its pickups in Canada too, besides the US.
It an attempt to get rid of the bloated supply of pickups GM is expanding its high incentives in Canada too. GM Canada announced it is offering employee pricing for two weeks on all pickups, besides other vehicles. The offer will be available until December 30th and the discount will depend on the vehicle’s price.
The models for which the discount applies are the 2012 Chevrolet Sonic and Cruze and all 2013 GM vehicles (except the Chevrolet Camaro, Volt, Orlando, Spark, Corvette, Traverse, Express and TRax), GMC Savana and Arcadia, Buick Enclave and Encore and Cadillac ATS and XTS. On Thursday, December 20th, GM Canada was offering incentives of about $5,080 U.S for all pickups.
“GM Canada will be competitive in the market, but we are not chasing market share at all costs,” said the company.
This year GM’s sales in Canada fell 5% to 212,202 units through November, while the market increased 7%. By the end of November GM had an inventory of 243,691 pickups (138 day-supply) in the US, its highest level since before 2009.
