The US truck manufacturer has decided to add some “post-apocalyptic” flavor to the 2016 Sierra model range by introducing the menacing All Terrain X special edition.
The new Sierra All Terrain X appears to take some cues from the Darth Vader – Kylo Ren sinister couple to put it into popular culture perspective, but only of the owner chooses the 4WD crew cab/short box models with SLT trim. Maybe the all-black look is not your thing, which is why GMC is sensible enough to treat the All Terrain X limited series to other body colors that can be matched to black side steps, bed-mounted sport bar, and side mirrors. The model packs some nice amenities though: LED headlights, 18-inch black wheels shod in Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac MT tires of 265/65R18SL dimensions. And because the soundtrack is equally important as the appearance, GMC has also swapped the common exhaust with a performance version that some ten ponies for a total of 365 horsepower taken out of the 5.3-liter V8 engine while also performing more aggressive on the audible level.
Adopting the traits of the regular Sierra All Terrain versions, the X version comes with the all-wheel drive system featuring an Eaton locking differential. Other benefits come thanks to the Z71 off-road suspension and a Rear Park Assist system, while in the cabin sits an inclinometer and an All Terrain logo. The special series also adds new floor liners and the model will be sold starting this spring with pricing details to be disclosed closer to launch.
