Ford is looking to bring dynamic cues across its range, with the large Mondeo blessed with the ST-Line package mere weeks after UK motorists were blessed with the same feature for the Fiesta and Focus ranges.
The new designer’s trim brings a sportier look to the Mondeo, but unfortunately there aren’t any power upgrades to talk about. So with that issue out of the way, we can tell you there’s a beefier appearance for the Mondeo thanks to the added appendices – front, side and back – without actually also having to count more ponies under the hood. In Great Britain, Ford will offer the Mondeo ST-Line to buyers opting for the 2.0 TDCI turbodiesel engine either with 150 or 180 hp, adding also the choice of manual or automatic transmission – both with six speeds. Shell in even more cash and you can also have the optional all-wheel-drive system. Ford will have the ST-Line both on the five-door hatchback and wagon versions.
Bothe body style versions use a special suspension setup that brings them closer to the ground by 10 mm, while the cool looks will be enhanced with new 18- and 19-inch alloy wheels. The interior has also been subtly tweaked via perforated leather steering wheel, sport seats with red stitching, ST-Line scuff plates, and other modifications. Ford is greeting the Goodwood Festival of Speed participants with its Mondeo ST-Line, the model being on display during the motoring event.
