The American tire maker company, Goodyear Tire & Rubber, has recently named Christopher Curran the new vice president of public relations and communications for the North American Tire business.
On 6th February 2012 he will officially join the company and replace Ed Markey, named vice president in March 2011.
Curran was previously director of communications and issues management for The ServiceMaster Company, known as one of the most important commercial and residential services networks. At this company he developed and implemented communication strategies for the company, including its eight brands.
He was the one who developed ServiceMaster’s first social media strategy and he also established an employee advocacy website (very useful to increase the engagement between the employee and the external audiences).
Before being an employee at ServiceMaster, Curran was the senior manager of corporate communications at Cadbury Schweppes (2000-2003), where he led investor relations for Esselte Corporation (global consumer goods manufacturer).
Taking into consideration his outstanding experience, Goodyear is very happy to welcome Curran to the team.
“Outstanding communications is critical to our business as we continue to build for success over the long term. We have a strong team in place, and look forward to Chris’s leadership to further increase its value as we execute our strategy,” said Goodyear president of North American Tire Steve McClellan.
