Rockstar Games has officially announced the next segment of its GTA series: “Grand Theft Auto V.”
Unfortunately, other than the fact that Rockstar has given us a date for the trailer release, which is Nov. 2, there is not much else that we can say.
Grand Theft Auto IV shattered sales records back in 2008 by racking up $500 million in sales in over a week, which no game had done previously. However, shortly after Call of Duty: Black Ops broke the record, but GTA remains a great game with 22 million copies of the fourth game sold to date.
According to VG247, “Grand Theft Auto V’s” location is to be set in Hollywood, and a 2012 release seems likely.
Video game developer DMA Design began the series of GTA in 1997, and it currently has ten stand-alone games and four expansion packs. The third chronological title, Grand Theft Auto III, was widely acclaimed, as it brought the series to a 3D setting and more immerse experience, and is considered a landmark title that has subsequently influenced many other action games and led to the label “Grand Theft Auto clone” on similar games.
