Gazoo Racing has officially pulled the wraps off the GRMN 86 Concept car, during the 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon.
Ever since it was introduced a couple of years ago, the Toyota GT 86 has been favored by many and in order to speculate this weird love, the Japanese based automaker has continued to offer special editions and even one-off versions of the sports car. One of these one-off variants is the recently unveiled GRMN 86 Concept, which has been officially presented to the public during the 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon. The model in question is looking aggressive and it has an enhanced powertrain, a lower center of gravity and improved rigidity.
Changes applied to the GRMN 86 Concept by Gazoo Racing include the carbon fiber components, like the hood, trunk and roof, the polycarbonate windows, the carbon ceramic brakes, sport tuned suspension system, mechanical differential and others. As far as the engine goes, Gazoo Racing declined to go into specifics but the model in question is getting a 200 HP (147 kW) and 205 Nm (151 lb-ft) 2.0 liter four-cylinder unit under its hood, which is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The whole sports car is weighing 1,200 kg (2,645 lbs).
