South Korean tire-maker Hankook will supply tires to BMW AG for the new 3 Series. The best-selling model by the Munich-based premium car manufacturer will come factory equipped with Hankook Ventus S1 evo² tires.
“Supplying original equipment for one of the best-selling, key models in the BMW range is proof of trust and motivation,” commented Jin-Wook Choi, Hankook Tire president and CEO for Europe.
Hankook’s high-end tire Ventus S1 evo² was introduced to the market in spring 2012 and is the first UHP tire engineered by DTM racing technology.
It comes with a multitude of technical innovations and design features for the best balance between wet and dry performance. It has also been developed in view of the new EU-labeling requirements.
All tires for the BMW Group are manufactured at Hankook’s main plant in Geumsan, South Korea. The high-tech tire plant specializes in the production of ultra-high performance tires. The plant also manufactures OE tires for the Mini Cooper.
