We’re pretty sure a very small portion of the F-150 owners always dreamed about having supercar power and truck carrying capabilities. No, no one? Than what’s the Raptor for?
Well, we’re pretty sure there were clients looking for extreme power prowess in their F-150 trucks – or the aftermarket specialists such as Hennessey would be out of business. And the latter has been doing bonkers projects for 25 years now, which is one of the reasons why they decided to create the Velociraptor 700. The Texas-based tuner has been making itself known for years, so we’re really hooked by its 25th anniversary projects – that spider world record, or the 800-hp toting Mustang. They appear to be looking to have something in every category, so the pick-up truck market looked like a natural choice.
By the way, the company already has the F-150 modded to 600 or 650 hp – which is more than a standard raptor will ever carry. This one is called the Hennessey 25th Anniversary Velociraptor 700, has been brought to life using a SuperCrew version and has the 5.0-liter V8 celebrating with a 2.9-liter supercharger that helps it put out no less than 704 hp. Of course the modifications also included things such as an intercooler, special fuel injectors, an air induction system, or a stainless steel cat-back exhaust system. Looks are important as well, so it gets 20 inch wheels, black fender flares, a pre-runner front bumper with LED light bar, a modified rear bumper and a Fox off-road suspension setup. Hurry up – only 25 will be made.
