If the apocalypse comes and we have a chance of survival, you might go out looking for this – of course if you can’t find the Mercedes G63 AMG 6×6.
The tuning gurus at Hennessey Performance have gotten us accustomed to their professional way of showcasing clear automotive craziness, so we’re not even surprised this thing came along. Yes, if they have a tradition of getting in more performance, more turbos and whatnot – then why not more wheels? So, here comes the Hennessey VelociRaptor 6×6 to resolve the issue. It’s based on the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor – which is not even out across dealerships yet! So we can see Ford’s faith in them – entrusting a car that hasn’t even reached the general population for a worthy mod.
Taking cues from the Mercedes-AMG G63 6×6, the guys over at Hennessey have stretched the vehicle’s aluminum bed and introduced to the party a secondary rear axle. And it has all the standard components – including limited-slip differential for improved traction. The aftermarket specialist also opted for new front and rear bumpers, 20-inch wheels with sturdy off-road tires, roll bars, extra lighting atop the roof of the cab, and upgraded Fox suspension shock absorbers. You might want to run away now – because we’re spilling the pricing details: $295,000.
Of course, the standard Raptor engine, a 3.5-liter biturbo V6 mill packing “just” 450 horsepower (335 kilowatts), needed some upgrades too. So, for the medical price of $22,500, VelociRaptor 6×6 owners can play in the sand with more than 600 hp (447 kw) thanks to new turbochargers, new exhausts, a new intercooler, and new engine programming. “Our VelociRaptor 6X6 is pure aggression on wheels – all six of them,” company founder and CEO John Hennessey said in a release.
