The North American aftermarket specialists at Hennessey have decided to upgrade the 2013 SRT Viper, which is now coming in two power stages, with 725 HP and with 1,120 HP.
Hennessey says that the Venom 700R will be offered on both the Viper and the Viper GTS and the upgrades include catalytic converters, high-flow cylinder heads, K&N air filter, engine management calibration and a stainless steel 3-inch exhaust system. This will allow the engine to produce a total output of 725 HP at 6,400 rpm and 695 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm. The 0 to 60 mph acceleration will be over in 3.1 seconds and the quarter mile in just 10.7 seconds.
The second package offered by Hennessey will be the Venom 1000 Twin Turbo, which is providing an impressive 1,120 HP at 6,200 rpm and 1,092 lb-ft of torque available at 4,200 rpm. These figures have been achieved thanks to the front mounted air-to-air intercooler, forged aluminum pistons, two precision ball bearing turbochargers and a lot more. The 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) acceleration in this version takes just 2.7 seconds and the quarter mile is over in 9.7 seconds. No details on the pricing of these upgrades have been announced yet.
