The North American based aftermarket specialists at Hennessey have recently pulled the wraps off their new creation, a new tuning program for the McLaren MP4-12C, named the HPE700.
Good news for those of you lucky enough to own the McLaren MP4-12C because there is now a new tuning option, coming from Hennessey. As you can see from the images posted below, the exterior design of the British supercar has remained unchanged, except for the Hennessey badges. This logic is also carried over in the cabin, where only a small number of modifications have been applied, like the small serial numbered dash plaque.
The biggest changes have been made under the hood, where the 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 engine is now producing an extra 88 HP (65 kW) and 130 Nm of torque (96 lb-ft). The total output now stands at 704 HP (525 kW) and 728 Nm of torque (538 lb-ft). This is enough for a 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) sprint made in just 2.8 seconds. The extra output has been made possible by optimizing the ECU, upgrading the intercooler and adding a stainless steel sports exhaust system, amongst others. No pricing details have been announced yet.
