You might remember Henrik Fisker as the automotive designer that tried to follow in the success footsteps of Tesla with its Karma hybrid and quickly failed.
The guy, who is also famous for penning some Aston Martin models, has its own design company – Henrik Fisker Design – and it has now teamed up with yacht builder Benetti in older to deliver the new Fisker 50 concept. This is a 164 foot long superyacht envisioned by Henrik Fisker, with the Fisker 50 concept actually used as a preview for a production version that will be manufactured in Italy. We’re no supeyacht experts – actually not even boat aficionados due to our slimmer bank accounts – but we can see the Fisker 50 has an elegant styling theme with lines that flow and actually have been inspired by what the companies call a “perfect regressing wave.” The yacht also comes with carbon fiber elements and a custom bow that has three stainless steel bars mounted onto it. There are also the ubiquitous wood decks, high-tech roof-mounted solar panels, and carbon fiber “shark fins” that should lend the boat an “aerodynamic and smooth appearance.”
The luxurious take is also present inside as premium materials have been used throughout – for example the wood floors have plush carpeted trimming. There are six different guest cabins and a master suite complete with office / library, a bathroom, and a bedroom. Luxury amenities also include an ocean-facing Jacuzzi, a spa, and several sunbathing areas, a “beach club,” a movie theater, and comfortable staff quarters for up to 11 crewmembers. While performance details have not been revealed yet, the companies said the production version will deploy an optional hybrid powertrain.
