Henrik Fisker – of unfortunate Fisker Karma fame – has decided to have another go at automotive production, introducing the new automaker called Fisker Inc.
The company is already looking to deliver its first model – a premium electric vehicle in the second half of 2017. The new automaker even has patented battery technology which could enable a range of over 400 miles (644 kilometers) on a charge. Fisker hasn’t actually spilled too many details about the project, but we do have a sketch teasing the upcoming luxury EV. In the automotive designer’s usual manner, the design looks bold, the proportions look rather compact but at least the space reserved for passengers seems plentiful. There are also huge rear fenders that suggest the model will have great performance credentials.
Fisker has been recognized as a trialed automotive designer, having passed through Aston Martin’s stable where he penned the V8 Vantage and DB9. “It will be sporty and spacious. And you’ve got to make something look beautiful—there is no excuse for making an ugly car, even with new technology—so it will definitely have some of my signature elements,” Fisker commented in an interview. The technology is coming from another newly established company – Fisker Nanotech. They are apparently focusing on prototyping new types of batteries – never before seen, if we take their word.
