Here are some beautiful Ferraris to think of while the IPO unfolds image

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is going to allow its most prized possession to become independent and in the process Ferrari – the prancing horse iconic brand – has been destined to an initial public offering that values the company at up to 9.8 billion dollars.

You might consider this market value fair or not, given that we’re talking about an automaker that only produces a few thousand cars each year (they self-imposed a cap, actually, to protect exclusivity) but besides thinking of all the cash cows they have at hand (from Mahjong sets to the Ferrari World amusement park in Abu Dhabi) we should first take a look at the metal works of art the Italians have delivered.

Making a list of the most beautiful Ferraris will surely do injustice to some of their models – but here it is in a biased and totally subjective configuration. We start off with the not so old Ferrari 599 GTO, around 2006, which promotes the quintessential shape and performance of the prancing horse credo. We could then move to the Ferrari 458 Italia, which has been highlighted on numerous occasions for combining classic beauty with modern expectations – just look at the LED headlights, glass engine cover or tri-tipped exhaust. The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta is another attitude enhancer that has a muscular stance and brings homage to the Dino or the 250 TR. Speaking off the latter, the 1957 Ferrari 250 TR is a statement in itself – just think about this, the holy arbiter of style – Ralph Lauren – has one as the centerpiece of his truly legendary auto collection.

A very classical Ferrari 275 GTB/4 Berlinetta should be a welcomed companion if you plan on going to a dinner party, while the Dino 246 GTS could be your escape ride when feeling the need to hit the Cote D’Azur. The 365 GTS Daytone also earns a place in our list – even Don Johnson had one in Miami Vice. The 1964 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso says it all – luxury is the name of the game and it’s one of the first examples of the company making a true Gran Turismo. Naturally, atop any Ferrari list should sit the marvelous 250 GTO as the real holy grail of being a Ferraristi.
