Australia’s Walkinshaw Performance has just officially revealed its supercharger package for the Holden Commodore lineup, transforming the mid-size car into a menacing performance machine.
The Commodore package has been named the “Racing Edition”, and has the honor of being the tuner’s most powerful package ever – only 50 units will be built for the sedans, wagons and utes from the VF and VE Commodore families. The package will become available from the second half of October, with an asking price of 24,490 AUD (includes installation, you need to bring the car).
Besides numerous other components and tweaks, the Racing Edition limited series also features an Eaton Twin Vortice 2300 supercharger, water-to-air intercooler, a unique Walkinshaw Performance injection molded cold air intake package or a cat-back exhaust.
For added exclusivity, Walkinshaw also throws in a Racing Limited Edition Plaque signed by all the current V8 Supercar drivers and has the individual build numbers integrated into the top cover of the engine.
The upgrades bring the “entry-level” 6.0-liter engine (for VE/VF models) up to a massive 680 PS (500 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm). The top shelf 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine (featured in the HSV E Series/Gen-F) is taken to a staggering 748 PS (550 kW) and 723 lb-ft (980 Nm) output.
