Alongside the civilian Jeep – which ultimately evolved into the iconic Wrangler – the Land Rover Defender is one of the legendary off-roaders that belong into the World Automotive Hall of Fame.
And with the model officially taking a break from production until the all-new generation – different – Defender kicks in a few years from now, medicine the people around the world are seemingly unwilling to let the Defender go. Chelsea Truck Company is one of the aftermarket specialists that decided to have a proper send off with the special project “The End Edition.” They will use as a basis the Land Rover Defender 2.2 TDCI XS 110 seven-seater, the biggest of the passenger body styles made by Land Rover for the model. Besides the Santorini Black hue, expect the Chelsea Truck Company to have numerous cues altered from the standard model – from sandblasted cold metal look to the exterior, wide wings front and back, X-Lander front grille, new bumper with integrated lights, mesh vents on the hood to the tuner’s personalized spare wheel at the back. Also completing the look are the Mondial Satin Black finished alloy wheels in 20 inch with 275×55/20 street tires. Also noticeable was the suspension travel range increase, upgraded gas shocks and heavy duty mud flaps.
The engine also got a bespoke treatment courtesy of Kahn and inside the cabin the aftermarket specialists have delivered a British inspired look: the seats are adorned in tweed and quilted and perforated dark leather. The same look has been passed to the door panels, grab handles, roof headlining or the sun visors. LED interior lighting, an Alpine GPS navigation system with reverse camera and a Kahn steering wheel are also there.
