Ford has released the first photos and details about their 2018 refresh for the iconic Mustang, but we only got to see the coupe version – so here’s the convertible courtesy of a digital alteration.
For better or for worse – as some claim – the legendary Ford Mustang has a new face for the 2018 model year, brought by the first mid life cycle refresh. But not just the front end design has changed for the pony car – there are new colors, new wheel designs, new safety features and new technologies inside and under the body – such as a 12-inch digital instrument cluster or the Ford-GM developed ten speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the older naturally aspirated V6 has been axed, leaving just the 2.3-liter EcoBoost and big V8 to soldier on.
More importantly, the automaker hasn’t shown the convertible version – but we can thank the rendering artists for bringing the sun a little earlier. The 2018 Mustang GT Convertible may very well look like this, since Ford has no reason to make huge changes to the drop top compared to the coupe. It will of course get all the enhancements, including more powerful or torquetastic V8 and turbo four cylinder – and maybe all the necessary details, since the carmaker refrained from actually gauging specific numbers during the online reveal.
