Nothing more than a rebadged version of the U.S. Sonic RS/European Aveo RS, the Barina RS will be offered on the Australian market, tailored for the specifics of the local customers.
Holden Barina RS features unique exterior styling including sports body kit incorporating larger rear spoiler, front and rear sports fascias and side skirts, new 17-inch alloy wheels and exclusive-for-RS paint color, Orange Rock.
Full specifications and features of Barina RS including powertrain options and pricing will be available at launch, programmed for November, but we can safely assume the Barina RS will use the turbocharged 1.4-liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine that develops 138 bhp (103 kW) and 148 lb-ft (200 Nm) of torque that can be found under the hood of the Sonic.
Barina RS also offers sports interior finishes including sport seats with RS branding and flat-bottomed steering wheel, while local engineering development work includes a unique-for-Australia electric power steering tune.
