The Japanese based automaker Honda is planning to develop a new generation of the Civic Type-R which is expected to make its way onto the market in 2013.
Honda didn’t say anything yet about the new Civic Type-R generation but according to the guys at autocar.co.uk, the company is planning to develop the next-gen and the model is expected to be officially presented to the public next year, during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, in a concept form. A full production version of the new Honda Civic Type-R generation should follow shortly, in the next 12 months after the concept will debut.
Our source is saying that the new Honda Civic Type-R will probably be confirmed at this year’s Paris Motor Show in September but what comes as a surprise is that the model might not wear the Type-R name. The engine which will be used in the upcoming Honda Civic Type-R is not known for the moment but considering the fact that the old generation left sale because it wasn’t meeting the Euro 5 emission standards, Honda might pull a surprise on us and offer it with the Euro 6 emissions standards. More details on the future Honda Civic Type-R will probably be announced at the 2012 Paris Motor Show in September.
