Honda is currently testing out its hot version of the new Civic generation, the Type R, which has been caught on camera by our spy photographers near the Arctic Circle.
With the brand new NSX officially presented to the public, in its final production form, during the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), in Detroit, Honda can now focus on other vehicles, such as the Civic Type R. While Ford has its climate chamber in which most of its new models are being tested, Honda prefers to do it the old fashion way so it recently took the brand new Civic Type R close to the Arctic Circle, where the images posted below have been taken.
The upcoming Japanese hot hatch will have the tough job of going against models such as the Volkswagen Golf R, the Renault Megane RS, the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG, the upcoming Ford Focus RS and so on and it will be packing an aggressive body kit, with different front and rear bumpers, with aerodynamic side skirts, with extended front fenders, a rear diffuser, a prominent rear wing and several other tweaks. The model will also get the four tailpipe exhaust system and some large alloy wheels, to sit on. Under its hood, rumor has it that we will find the 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol burner, which should be good for at least 280 HP, but it might also produce 320 HP. The Honda Civic Type R should be unveiled later on this year.
