Honda has decided to refresh its hybrid, the Insight model, Toyota Prius’ main rival, only two years after it was launched, and announcing that the facelifted version will be officially unveiled at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.
Only 11 days before the German event will open its gates, Honda released the first image of its “new” Insight hybrid, coming with a new front fascia, lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
According to the Japanese automaker, the facelifted version of the Insight has some serious modifications under the hood, with upgraded powertrain and transmission, making the hybrid’s CO2 emissions drop from 105 to 96 grams per kilometer, as well as its fuel consumption.
As for exterior changes, we clearly see a redesigned front fascia which, knowing Honda, doesn’t have a visual role but more like an aerodynamic one.
Honda didn’t release any more details about the “new” Insight, saving them for the Frankfurt Motor Show which will officially open its gates this month.
