New renderings with the 2016 Honda NSX are showing us how the upcoming range-topping version may look like once it will be ready.
The introduction of the new Honda / Acura NSX at the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, earlier this month, has opened the imagination of petrol heads from across the globe and the rumor that the company is planning an even hotter version of it, the NSX Type R, has taken things to a whole new level. The images posted below are renderings of the so-called NSX Type R range topping variant and they are showing us how the sports car may turn out to be.
From the start, we can notice the large rear wing which has been added to the model, the slightly updated body kit and last, but not least, the new wheel design. It is believed that in the final production version of it, the interior design will be slightly reworked too and the engine will be more powerful, but keep in mind that such a variant hasn’t been officially confirmed at the time. Power to the “regular” Acura NSX is provided by a V6 twin turbo engine, producing more than 550 HP, which is backed up by 3 electric motors, two of them mounted up front for torque vectoring and the other one fitted to the rear. Power is sent to both axles, through the 9-speed dual clutch transmission, and this is forming the Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system.
