Alfa Romeo is hinting at a hotter 4C as the model in question will hit the market probably next year.
The Alfa Romeo 4C is about to become even hotter thanks to a high performance version. This has been hinted by the company’s CEO Harald Wester and it seems it has something to do with a so-called Stradale version, which should develop approximately 270 HP (199 kW) thanks to some tweaks made to the engine. Performance will increase too because the car will be getting some lightweight panels and probably a modified suspension system.
The 1.75 liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine is expected to be used on the hotter version of the 4C. The unit is currently rated at 240 HP (176 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. This is enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint made in just 4.5 seconds, in the standard car, and a top speed of 258 km/h (160 mph). The average fuel consumption in the model is 6.8 liters every 100 km (42 mpg UK / 35 mpg US). More details on the hotter version of the Alfa Romeo 4C are limited for the moment and will probably be announced close to its debut, probably in 2015.
