Today, all producers are trying to reduce engine sizes, to cut consumption, or to create vehicles with less pollution engines. Hybrids are also a solution to the problem.
Recent reports suggest that luxury British Manufacturer Rolls Royce is working to a hybrid version of its actual Ghost.
According to AutoCar, the Rolls-Royce Ghost will share its green-technology with
the new BMW ActiveHybrid 7. The electric motor sandwiched into the transmission produces 20 kW (27 hp) and 155 lb-ft — enough power to help during hard acceleration, but not enough to pr
opel the vehicle under electric power alone. But there is no problem. The unique 6.2-liter V-12 will enter in action when power produced by the little electric will not be enough. The Ghost Hybrid will not receive a 100% electric mode, but, even so, average fuel consumption should decrease by about 15 percent, compared with the standard version.
