The South Korean automaker is getting ready to officially introduce the next generation Elantra (Avante) and its crucial importance is being highlighted by the abundance of teasers.
The latest crop of renders have been outputted by Hyundai South Korea and envision the KDM-spec Avante, though we’re sure the international Elantra will actually bear no difference. Besides a more relevant digital illustration, the rest of the pack are just sketches showing three- and four-door coupes with interesting styling – though we all know the end product is always miles away from the sketched design exercises. It could still hint towards a reiteration of the coupe version for the sixth generation Elantra even though the variant sold in the United States between 2012 and 2014 had a short life span and was axed due to slow demand.
Anyways, getting the full details on the compact sedan should happen sooner rather than later as Hyundai was keen to point out the introduction of the latest generation Elantra / Avante is “just around the corner.” Judging by the rumors so far, the US-bound Elantra would be equipped under the hood with a 175 bhp 1.6-liter T-GDi engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox that would render a fuel economy of 43 mpg (5.4 liters / 100 km) on the highway.
