Hyundai has recently announced that an armored version of the Equus limousine, made with ArmorTech, will make its debut at the end of the month at the 2012 Moscow Motor Show.
If you thought that ArmorTech is going only after luxurious German sedans and a few SUVs, you’re wrong, because the company has just teamed up with Hyundai in order to create the Equus Limousine Security. According to the two companies, the model in question is 5,46 meters long and it weighs 3,840 kg (8,465 lb), being fully compliant with the VR7 protection level .
The Hyundai Equus Limousine Security by ArmorTech is powered by a large 5.0 liter Tau V8 engine which is developing a total output of 430 horsepower (429 PS / 316 kW) at 6,400 rpm and it has a peak torque of 509 Nm, available at 5,000 rpm. The unit is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission which is sending power to the rear-wheel drive. More details on the Hyundai Equus Limousine Security will be announced between the 31st of August and the 9th of September in Russia, when the model will be officially presented to the public during the Moscow Motor Show.
