The South Korean based automaker Hyundai is planning to develop a high performance version of the i40 sedan.
Even if the car manufacturer didn’t make an official announcement of a possible Hyundai i40 high performance version, the company’s Allan Rushforth had recently confirmed the news on launching a new model.
“A Hyundai GTI? That’s not just a C-segment question (referring to the i30), but a D-segment as well. We have talked about such cars and are considering version not only with more performance, but dynamic improvements to ride and handling too”, as Allan Rushforth recently told autocar.co.uk. “We recognize the attributes in bringing down emissions and improving low-end performance with turbo engines. We are working on this technology; watch this space, added the company’s official.
Launching a high performance version of the Hyundai i40 is currently essential to the company’s expansion and the Veloster Turbo, which was officially presented at the 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, just last month, was only the first model which will start a whole new lineup, set to expand in 2013. Sadly we don’t have any more details on the Hyundai i40 high performance version but we will keep you updated.
